This may be your only option if you have an out of the box iPhone with 4.0.2 on it and no other way to jailbreak. Note that I did not try these steps. They sound good to me in theory and others are reporting some success. After all, you have nothing to lose if you are already stuck on 4.0.2 without an SHSH in Cydia.  Here are the steps:<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u3042\u308biPhone\u30e6\u30fc\u30b6\u30fc\u306eCodeBlue\u6c0f\u304c\u672a\u78ba\u8a8d\u306a\u304c\u30894.0.2\u306eiPhone\u30924.0.1\u3078\u30c0\u30a6\u30f3\u30b0\u30ec\u30fc\u30c9\u3059\u308b\u65b9\u6cd5\u3092\u767a\u898b\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002Jailbreak\u304c\u53ef\u80fd\u306b\u306a\u308a\u3001Saurik\u6c0f\u306ePDF patch\u3067Safari\u306e\u8106\u5f31\u6027\u306b\u3082\u30d1\u30c3\u30c1\u3082\u53ef\u80fd\u3067\u5b89\u5168\u306aJailbreak\u304c\u5b9f\u73fe\u3067\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002\u3053\u306e\u65b9\u6cd5\u306fiPhone\u304c4.0.2\u306e\u5834\u5408\u306e\u307f\u9069\u7528\u53ef\u80fd\u3067Jailbreak\u3059\u308b\u65b9\u6cd5\u304c\u306a\u3044\u3068\u304a\u5606\u304d\u306e\u7686\u3055\u3093\u5411\u3051\u3067\u3059\u3002\u306a\u304a\u3001\u79c1\u81ea\u8eab\u3053\u306e\u65b9\u6cd5\u3092\u8a66\u3057\u3066\u3044\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002\u305f\u3060\u7406\u8ad6\u7684\u306b\u306f\u5927\u4e08\u592b\u305d\u3046\u3067\u3001\u6210\u529f\u4e8b\u4f8b\u3082\u3042\u308b\u3068\u805e\u3044\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306eiPhone\u304c4.0.2\u3067Cydia\u3067SHSH\u3082\u4fdd\u5b58\u3057\u3066\u3044\u306a\u3044\u305f\u3081\u306b\u306a\u3059\u8853\u7121\u3057\u3060\u3063\u305f\u65b9\u306b\u53d6\u3063\u3066\u306f\u8a66\u3057\u3066\u640d\u306f\u306a\u3044\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u3002\u3084\u308a\u65b9\u306f\u4ee5\u4e0b\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/font><\/p>\n<p>1. Download 4.0.1 ipsw<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u30004.0.1 ipsw\u3092\u30c0\u30a6\u30f3\u30ed\u30fc\u30c9\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n2. Extract it with winrar or winzip  to a folder on the desktop. You may need to rename the firmware file from .ipsw to .zip to do this.<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u30004.0.1 ipsw\u3092winrar\u304bwinzip\u3067\u89e3\u51cd\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002\u30c0\u30a6\u30f3\u30ed\u30fc\u30c9\u3057\u305fiPhone\u30d5\u30a1\u30fc\u30e0\u30a6\u30a7\u30a2\u306e\u62e1\u5f35\u5b50\u3092.ipsw\u304b\u3089.zip\u306b\u5909\u66f4\u3057\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n3. Open the buildmanifest.plist with the notepad. Search and replace all ? 8A306 with 8A400.  Save. Repeat the same with the file restore.plist<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u3000buildmanifest.plist\u3092Notepad\u3067\u958b\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002\u30e1\u30cb\u30e5\u30fc\u304b\u3089\u7f6e\u63db\u3092\u9078\u629e\u3057\u3001\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb\u5185\u306e8A306\u3092\u3059\u3079\u30668A400\u306b\u7f6e\u304d\u63db\u3048\u3066\u4fdd\u5b58\u3057\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044\u3002restore.plist\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u3082\u540c\u3058\u64cd\u4f5c\u3092\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n4. Download 4.0.2 ipsw and open this with winrar or winzip. Note: do not exact it. Just open it and leave it open. You must use this exact file and not create a new one. If you have to create a new one for reasons like you are on OSX, then use zip command line not explorer or finder to make the zip. I will assume you are using the original file opened in winrar for the rest of this guide.<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u30004.0.2 ipsw\u3082\u30c0\u30a6\u30f3\u30ed\u30fc\u30c9\u3057\u3066winrar\u304bwinzip\u3067\u958b\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002\u6ce8\u610f\uff1a\u89e3\u51cd\u3057\u3066\u306f\u3044\u3051\u307e\u305b\u3093\u3002\u5358\u306b\u958b\u304f\u3060\u3051\u3067\u3059\u3002\u958b\u3044\u305f\u3089\u305d\u306e\u307e\u307e\u306b\u3057\u3066\u304a\u304d\u307e\u3059\u3002\u30a2\u30fc\u30ab\u30a4\u30d6\u306e\u4e2d\u306e\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb\u306f\u4f7f\u3044\u307e\u3059\u304c\u3001\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u4fdd\u5b58\u3092\u3057\u306a\u3044\u3067\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044\u3002MaxOS\u306e\u5834\u5408\u6a19\u6e96\u306e\u30a2\u30fc\u30ab\u30a4\u30d0\u3067\u89e3\u51cd\u3059\u308b\u3068\u65b0\u305f\u306b\u30d5\u30a9\u30eb\u30c0\u3092\u4f5c\u3063\u3066\u3057\u307e\u3046\u306e\u3067\u3001\u305d\u3046\u3044\u3063\u305f\u5834\u5408\u306b\u306fFinder\u4e0a\u3067\u306f\u884c\u308f\u305azip\u30b3\u30de\u30f3\u30c9\u30e9\u30a4\u30f3\u3092\u4f7f\u7528\u3057\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044\u3002\u3053\u306e\u5f8c\u306e\u64cd\u4f5c\u306fwinrar\u3067\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb\u3092\u958b\u3044\u305f\u72b6\u614b\u3068\u8a00\u3046\u524d\u63d0\u3067\u8aac\u660e\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n5. Take all the files from the 4.0.1 and drag them over to the 4.0.2 zip archive that you have open.<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u30004.0.1\u306e\u5168\u3066\u306e\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb\u3092\u5148\u307b\u3069\u958b\u3044\u305f\u72b6\u614b\u306b\u3057\u305f4.0.2\u306ezip\u30a2\u30fc\u30ab\u30a4\u30d6\u306b\u30c9\u30e9\u30c3\u30b0\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n6. Delete all the dmg files that have 002 at the end, leaving only the 001 files left.<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb\u540d\u306e\u6700\u5f8c\u306b002\u3068\u3042\u308bdmg\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb(XXX-XXXX-002.dmg\u306a\u3069)\u3092\u5168\u3066\u524a\u9664\u3057\u3001001\u30d5\u30a1\u30a4\u30eb(XXX-XXXX-001.dmg)\u3060\u3051\u306e\u72b6\u614b\u306b\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n7. Save the archive. And rename it back to .ipsw if you changed the name to get winrar\/winzip to open it.<br \/>\n<font color=\"#FF0033\">\u305d\u306e\u307e\u307e\u30a2\u30fc\u30ab\u30a4\u30d6\u3092\u4fdd\u5b58\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002zip\u306e\u62e1\u5f35\u5b50\u306fwinrar\/winzip\u3067\u958b\u304f\u305f\u3081\u306b\u5909\u66f4\u3057\u307e\u3057\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3001\u4fdd\u5b58\u3057\u305f\u3089\u62e1\u5f35\u5b50\u3092.ipsw\u306b\u623b\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/font><br \/>\n8. Optional: (this helps ensure you get an shsh file request for the future, but should not be necessary to just restore 4.0.1).  Add the 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com line to the host file.
